On Campus OneNote is a feature-rich note-taking app, and it gives you a lot for free. Smart pens are available for semester-long loan periods through the SUNY Broome Library. Specific audio playback is triggered by touching the pen to points in the writing. The Smart Pen audio records while a student writes notes or makes notations in a companion notebook, synchronizing the audio to the written work. Used by students to audio record lecture classes and presentations. This method of notetaking helps facilitate independent notetaking and provides notes that are individual and specific to a student and their individual learning/study practices. Assistive TechnologyĪRO currently offers Glean, a cloud-based audio-notetaking software that records the lecture and allows students to pinpoint and highlight important information for later review. Students who experience a concern with the timeliness or quality of notes should contact Brian Croteau at for assistance. Peer notetaking is a confidential service the identity of both the student and the notetaker are not disclosed. Notetakers are students who have strong notetaking and organizational skills and are identified and recruited by the ARO or the student. ![]() Notetaking Services available to approved students Peer NotetakingĪ service where notes from a peer are shared electronically with students who request notetaking. Registered students who have met with an Accessibility Specialist and have provided documentation that supports the need for note-taking accommodations may be approved for an in-class peer notetaker and/or for the use of assistive notetaking technologies. Note-taking accommodations are approved on an individual basis through the interactive process between the Accessibility Specialist and the student. ARO’s Note-Taking Services provide students with means of equal access to information necessary for academic success. ![]()
